VERTICAL DRAINING AND CONSOLIDATION OF SOFT SOIL

Construction on compressible soils is a growing challenge for engineering. Two conditions shall be met for building on compressible soils: stability, i.e., breaking of the foundations and maintenance of the deformations, whether vertical (settlement) or horizontal, shall be avoided.

The vertical drains  or geodrains Tecdren are an alternative to improve the soil properties, promoting reduction of settlement after construction, speeding up the increase of the shearing strength and the load capacity due to the condensation (reduction of the volume of water in the soil voids).
